Rules First of all read the site rules. If you have any questions that cannot be answered there, please console the FAQ. If you still need help, feel free to ask the staff. Read this guideline carefully before applying.
Topic Title: Should be your character's full name.
Topic Description: This should have your series name and OOC name. Your OOC name would be the name you use in the chat box. Please keep it consistent, this means to not change your OOC name every other week. Example: Final Fantasy IV // Dust
Pending Applications: If you work on a profile and then post once you are finished that is fine. If you post an application that is a work-in-progress, put some sort of (WIP) tag in one of the titles. Otherwise the staff will prematurely look over it. At the same time, please remove WIP tags when you are finished. When finished you may let the staff know either by bumping it, posting in the tag box, telling us in chat if someone is on, or notifying us in a PM.
Waiting: Be patient when waiting. Usually it does not take too long to look over an application. Everyone has lives though and at the most you might be waiting a day.
Plagiarism: Do not steal posts and information from other sites. We don't mind people using other sites like a Wiki for references but do not directly copy or copy/paste from it or other people's work. Use your own words.
Writing Mistakes: Spelling and grammar mistakes happen, we won't pend you for one or two mistakes. However, if we see multiple mistakes throughout that make it hard to understand, we will pend and request that you fix them. Proof read everything.
Application: You can do anything you like here, however do we ask that you do your best to capture the character's voice as this is the most important part of RPing them. When doing a freeform RP sample or one-shot style please keep this in mind while writing that we don't only want to see detail about their surroundings (even though that is great and welcomed) we want to really be able to see inside their head and get a good idea of their voice as well. We don't only want to see them speaking, but their thoughts, reactions, and so on. If you use this space to do a Traditional style application you may do so, but we expect to see a great amount of detail in personality and history. If you don't do a RP sample we will look for a well-detailed personality explaining both pros, cons, and other aspects.
Word Count: Our word count for our application is 500 words minimum, you are free to go over this as much as you like. Quality and understanding of a character over quantity, but if we do not feel like we have a grasp of your character we might ask for more regardless of your word count. Note; This only applies to the freeform area not the abilities/powers/weakness tab.
Paragraph Breaks: These are important, as to not create a large wall of text for people to read, staff will not attempt to read these huge walls. In code you can acquire a break in line with a <*br> tag or two of them for a paragraph, or by simply using the <*p> tag (without the asterisks). Not using paragraph breaks will get you pended.
Weaknesses: Even if a character is completely mortal we expect to still see weaknesses. Characters with abilities also need balancing. Please use physical weaknesses as well as personality faults here if you want. Every character also has to be kill-able in some way shape or form as well. It is a rule we make everyone abide by. Even if it is simply written that they are mortal please add it.
Paragraphs: Break your paragraphs up, no one wants to try and read through a wall of text where you can't tell something begins and ends. The <*p> or <*br> codes can be used (without the *s)
Job: We do mean their job here in Avalon, you can look at the occupations (link) but keep in mind not all possible jobs are listed and you can ask that we add something.
Images: Please do not use unsightly images. Staff reserve the right to ask you to change any images you use, while we most often won't, We will not allow images that reflect poorly on the site. These include shots strictly for perversion or blurry and stretched images. If you need help editing staff or a member can help but there are plenty of sites where you can do this yourself. Don't be lazy just because you don't want to edit. Luckily for you the two smaller rectangular images auto-resize and most approximately-shaped images should be alright.
Three Strikes: If you get pended three times we will ask that you consider a different character. Your third strike will be a denial.
Claims: After approval you have three days to do your claims or your character will be archived and open for someone else to take.
