Ellen stood outside of the library with a small smile touching her lips. It didn't seem to matter how many times she actually managed to get here, it always was a thing of beauty. From the outside to the in. It was far bigger than she had initially expected, making her wonder how she could have ever missed it before. Even now knowing how to get to it, she still always felt as though she walked past it a time or two before actually stopping outside of it. Yet even then, it still made her happy. There were so many books here from what felt like so many worlds. Perhaps, some day, she could find the picture books of the Netherworlds tucked away within the large aisles.
<p>
It was an odd delight to step through those doors, the scent of books mingling with everything else. Relaxing in it's own right. With a size like this, it was so easy to simply find a spot to hide for hours with a pile or two of books. It'd be even easier to hide and sketch the day away, not that she couldn't just as easily do so at home. It was just always so different doing so in places like this. Home was a place of comfort, and with the occasional sounds of either soft snores or typing, she'd rather just try and gain muse and inspiration from a dark corner where no one may find her. Sure, she didn't quite mind it all that much, but she had her preferences.
<p>
Though as she started to walk, wandering towards the maze of aisles, she thought, for a moment, that perhaps she didn't necessarily need to get lost in a small corner with her sketchbook just yet. There was still so much about this place that she wished to know, that she wanted to learn. It wasn't a Nether-realm from what she'd managed to gather, but that didn't mean it wasn't some how connected to them. If it can draw from such a place, there much be a connection to it. There must be a way to send people back. <t>'Do I really want to go back, though?'</t> The question loomed in the back of her mind. She wasn't sure. Certainly, if there was a way to do it, he would have found it by now.
<p>
Shaking the thought away, the young woman hummed softly to herself, shifting along the rows with a fingertip lightly trailing along the edges of the books she passed. Bright green eyes managed to just barely read the titles, trying to find something that would stand out, something that could hold something of importance. Yet it was all the same books she'd already skimmed through. She always seemed to come back to the same rows, look at the same spines, get lost in the same places. She didn't mind it, quite the contrary, but it never lead to any real progress. Coming to the end of one row and ready to move to another, she noticed someone tending to the books. Or, at least, she assumed they were doing such. <t>"Umm, excuse me."</t> She spoke in a hushed tone, her thick Irish accent coating her words. <t>"Do you work here? I could really use some help."</t>

Ellen knew that it wasn't necessarily safe to go too far out of not just the city but the town by herself but she'd done well out here before. She just wanted a small bit of fresh air and these plains were rather close to Vorick. If anything, this place should be safe, at least to a degree. She considered veering off towards the forest again, though thoughts of what had happened last time kept her back. She didn't need to be attacked by another wolf. Best to be safe rather than sorry. Perhaps this was a mistake as a whole. She ought to be out doing her job searching again, but trying to do that day in and day out without the right results just yet made it a bit of a dampener to keep going out to do. A peaceful walk out in the wilderness, that was what she needed. Time away from others, peace and quiet. Maybe she could find a rock out here to perch on and relax for a few hours. She had a small bag over her shoulder with her sketch book. If she was truly lucky, she'd manage to get something drawn.
<p>
Slowly, she found herself getting lost in her own thoughts. Drifting between art and work. Perhaps she could just start selling her artwork, it'd at least be good for a little bit, until she could lad a real job. Would it provide enough money to help with the rent though? That was the true question. She partly doubted it. Who would actually buy them, anyway? She'd need to start painting again if she thought she could sell anything. Landscapes did well to be sold to restaurants, didn't they? That could certainly be a possibility. Her pace started to slow as she considered that. No, she'd just go to one of the restaurants and ask for a position as a waitress. She'd considered it a couple of times already, might as well actually go through with it at this point. There was a nice cafe in Solum she could always work at.
<p>
Thoughts drifted away again as she came to a stop, her eyes focused forward. She'd been looking for a rock to rest on and, for a second, she had thought she'd seen one. But what she saw ahead was certainly no rock she could imagine. She watched it curiously. A... lion? But something seemed odd about it, almost like the sort of thing she would have seen in Warcadia. So metallic, like a machine. If it was a folk, it was the biggest she'd ever seen that didn't get qualified as a Folklore. She thought back to her almost being attacked by the wolves and, just for a second, thought this could be a bad idea. But if it was a folk, she'd rather give it a home within herself than let it stay out here. So she approached with caution. <t>"Are you out here all alone?"</t> she called to the creature, knowing it wouldn't be able to answer. She didn't know that there was someone else there, though, just out of her field of vision.

Tired, that was the first thought on her mind. Ellen was tired, but she'd told herself that she'd start trying to be more active during the day, attempt to regulate her circadian rhythm. She figured that the best way to do such was to get herself out of bed and up into Sanctum as soon as she could manage. You would think that, being in college before all of this, she'd be used to having to trudge through mornings after staying up far too late. You'd be wrong, however. Just because she should be used to it hardly meant that she actually was. Getting a shower in the morning at least helped to give her body a bit of a kick before heading out into the world. The next big step was making sure she didn't pass right back out on the train. It was hard, though. All the beautiful imagery with the soft sounds of all the chattering of people around her, it was made rather easy to just let her mind drift and her eyes slowly shut. Unfortunately, she had to keep telling herself she wouldn't do just that and attempted to simply focus on certain passing objects in hope that it might keep her awake.
<p>
A soft yawn escaped her when the train came to a stop. Thank goodness, one more second and she might have actually passed out on that thing. She hardly wanted to have to be woken up by someone because they realized she'd been asleep through an entire trip or two. She got up on her tip toes to stretch lightly, fingers lacing together and pushing downwards in an attempt to not get in anyone else's way when she stretched before filing out. Her first few steps out onto the pavement were a bit shaky, a mix of her fatigue and having to walk after sitting for so long mixing together. The crisp air caressing her cheek, however, helped to send a nice little shiver through her body that made it easier to stay away. Perfect! Now to just figure out where she wanted to go.
<p>
She remembered hearing about a park that was supposed to be in the central part of the city. Perhaps she could go looking for that today. Or maybe even the library. She knew that was supposed to be somewhere in that distract as well, right? She certainly hoped so, it would make for quite a convenient visit. Two birds, one stone, right? Although first was the question of finding just where the 'Central' distract of the city was to begin with. And then finding her way from there was going to be another battle, but one she was all too pleased to take part of. After asking a few directions, she thought that she had a good idea as to where she was going, but after a bit of wandering that seemed to leave her with more questions and less sights that seemed to indicate either a park or a library, she realized she was lost. She stopped, her left hand coming up to rest gently on her chest as a heavy sigh passed through her lips. She shifted slightly, turning around to try and get a good look to see if she could figure out just where she might be. If she could find anything, then it'd be enough. As she twisted, though, she felt her body hit someone else. Thankfully, she managed to keep her balance. <t>"I'm sorry. I... I didn't mean to hit you."</t>

It started with a magazine, flipping through one inside of a store to figure out whether it was worth the purchase or not. There was certainly seemed to be some interesting articles in it. The sort that had eye catching imagery to go along with a delightful enough beginning. Not interesting enough that she was sure she wanted to waste what little she had to purchase it, but enough that she'd certainly consider it once she had a means to buy it regularly. She likely would have put it back on the shelf had a name not caught her eye at the end of one of the articles she'd happened to flip to. <t>"Keats?"</t> she had queried. What had started as a harmless endeavor to find some small medium of entertainment turned into the girl not just buying the magazine, but then going about her own little search to try and find just where she might be able to find the author.
<p>
It hadn't been nearly as hard as she thought it would be, honestly. Just a few days of asking around and gathering information. She was so delighted at the idea of finding a familiar face, someone she, quite honestly, hadn't exactly been sure she'd see again. When she had said goodbye, she knew in her heart that it hadn't exactly been a 'goodbye for now' sort. No, it was meant to be far more permanent, whether she had necessarily wanted it to be or not. He'd done so much to help her, of course she hadn't wanted it to be goodbye. But at least she'd have his memory, right? That was certainly the thought process there. Goodbye forever certainly ended a lot sooner than she'd thought it would. Or had it? Knocking on the door to the place only ended with silence on the other end. Oh dear, had she come by too late? Perhaps. She wished she would have thought that a possibility, perhaps she would have written a nice little note or stick by the door.
<p>
She'd just have to try coming back earlier the next day.
<p>
Two options poked around her head. She could either head for the train and go back to Vorick, attempt to get to sleep at a decent time. Or she could do a bit of exploring of the city. Even with night falling, she was certain it'd be a beautiful thing to experience. She was going to have to get used to it during both times of the day after all, right? Of course! She'd just have to remember to try and get back to the train before it was too late or find an inn of sorts remain for the night. At the time, it had certainly seemed like a good idea. Though as minutes of walking seemed to fade into an hour or two without much thought, she realized that, perhaps, it would have been better to head back to town sooner. Especially since now that the moon was high and she was really paying a bit more attention to her surroundings, she noticed how different this part of time seemed to be. There was even an uncomfortable air to the place that practically sent chills down her spine. She should turn back, if only she knew where back was.
<p>
In her best attempt to retrace her steps, she only found herself getting more and more lost. On top of it, she swore she could hear sounds somewhere close by that she wasn't entirely sure she cared much for. Almost like snarls or growls, she couldn't really be certain. Was it an animal? Certainly not a happy animal. Snarls could mean anything, though, couldn't they? They could mean an animal was hurt or afraid. Or they could mean an animal was angry. She liked to think she was decent enough with animals that, whatever the case, she might be able to calm it enough to try and help it out of this place all the same. That line of thinking died quickly when she did find it, though.
<p>
Something about it's figure was familiar. It looked a lot like an Ogma, if she were quite honest, but the coloration was all wrong. It was more silver, and the blade-like protrusions seemed to be just off. She went to take a slow step towards it only to hear it growl at her, turning its attention towards the Netherworld Messenger. The way it's eyes glinted in the moonlight gave away it's intentions more than the creature likely knew. She knew she wouldn't have much of a chance to attack, but she could at least call upon one of the folk she was so used to defending her. Jumping back a step, her mind went right for the Killmoulis and her hands came up in a feeble attempt to defend herself. In front of her, the rabbit creature appeared, it's body curling in with it's tail up. The clashing of the razor appendages on it's head echoed in her ear as a small yelp managed to escape her.
<p>
She needed to think of a plan of attack fast. Something told her it wasn't going to be so easy to just hit it a couple of times before it managed to strike her again.
