he weather in Avalon had become somewhat more bitter over the last month, the cheeriness of fall now gone as the harshness of winter drew in. The only delightful distraction from the bitterness of the cold was the snow that it brought with it, that pure crystal white powder that fell to the earth in wisps that danced upon the air. Snow was not something that she had seen often in Tenebrae, once or twice perhaps when she was younger, but it was not a common occurrence. To see everything here blanketed beneath it was wonderful, though not all shared the same view it seemed, there were disgruntled people who found the whole thing a tremendous aggravation, clearing the snow from paths and awnings...it was true that not everyone could find delight in such things, but for her, it was something she looked upon fondly. When the coldness had begun to seep in to the point where she had found herself shivering, she had decided that perhaps it was time to find somewhere warm, or at least somewhere that served something warm.

She had approached the cafe with a smile, glancing up at the sign that read 'chance encounters' which in itself was a somewhat amusing play on the term, where else would you meet someone by chance than in a cafe? A tea had been ordered once the very pleasant waitress had approached her table asking what she wished to order and she had offered her a polite smile, when she returned and she had given her thanks she stared down at her drink, her smile returning once more. It was a welcome sight to see the steam of tell tale heat rising from the cup as she placed her hands around it, feeling the warmth of the porcelain beneath her fingers. With a soft sigh of contentment she brought the cup to her lips, blowing gently on the liquid before taking a sip, leaning back into her chair slightly as the warmth offered comfort from the cold.

Her fingers did not leave the cup as she placed it back upon the table carefully, for all the wonders that this winter brought with it, there were also things that she found to be concerning, with the delight of the snow came the encroaching darkness, something that was frightening in a way...and confusing in another. In Eos, the darkness was something to be feared, the time when the world would be forever plunged beneath it until such time as the King of light purged it from the world. A frown formed upon her brow and she stared down at the cup once more, fingers tightening around it. Noctis....what had become of him? Her last moments with him....those moments before her death, they were as clear in her mind now as they had been when she had awoken in this world, the ring given to him, soft words spoken, the promise that she would be with him always....and now, now she was here, alive, perhaps some gift for fulfilling her role as Oracle, a chance to live out her life as it should have been but....she wished that Noctis was there to share it with her.

Run with my hands on my eyes Blind, but I'm still alive Free to go back on my own But is it still a home when you're all alone Is it still a home when you're all alone All the king's horses and all the king's men Couldn't put me back together again. There is a reason I'm still standing... I'm still alive... skdgnskdndflhkldsfjg

One more step guided forward by the faintest sound of a metal rod grazing the floor. An occasional vibrating tap and change of direction. Dark hung overhead moons glaring down on his back gone unnoticed. He had been informed that Avalon's weather had not always been so harsh. That the sunlight once lit up and filled the world with warmth and protection from the usual nightly tyrants who were taking advantage of this realm's seeming lapse in judgment. Daemons. The word bitter and pressing into the back of his throat and settling like a hot coal in his stomach. Monsters. Name them what they will it sickened him to know Avalon suffered the same potential fate that awaited Eos.

He dismissed it as beyond his control because of course it was. Surely the sun would shine again. Sooner or later. Only it was with the darkness that winter's harsh fangs sunk in and became such a terrible threat to many of Avalon's citizens. The former adviser did not mind the weather though it made it far more difficult to be wary of where his feet led him on the often frozen pathways that led through Sanctum. As if Sanctum was not difficult enough to navigate already. Buzzing sounds of life, smells, and twists and turns which led him into one unknown area after the other. He has been here only a little while but hardly gained any sense of direction. He knows where his dwelling is and he has found the small cafe both located near the train-station.

Ignis has come and gone more than once, craving both solitude and the sound of life around him. Another small turn. Ignis guides himself forward with his cane skirting gently across the ground lifted just a hair's breath above it. The sound of the rod's faintest grind on the floor makes his teeth itch as if he is chewing sand.

The bell chimes before he can reach out for the door. One person shoves past him though not quite strong enough to shove him out of the way, he imagines it is a child, followed immediately by a mother's scolding voice, and an older man's apology aimed at Ignis. “It isn't a worry.” he replies politely before stepping forward as the man holds the door for him. A silent dip of his head in gratitude before the door swings closed behind him. Judging by the sounds around him the cafe is lively though not quite overflowing he can still probably find a corner to tuck himself away in and enjoy the atmosphere.

To think Ignis had come this far without any incident despite his worry about the ice only to, upon moments after entering, he bumped in to. This time however he wobbled back in an attempt to keep his footing but soon to land on the floor followed by a loud crashing and cracking that caused him to visibly wince. Undoubtedly fuming unwanted attention in his direction now and the cold splash of what was a half-empty now broken glass of water having soaked his sleeve and left speckles across his front. At least he hoped it was water. It was hard to say which of them was at fault but the waitress who had collided with him sounded worried and apologetic as she bent down unsure what she should do first clean up the mess or help him up. Embarrassment and sympathy evident in her repeated apologies as she offered her hand and then became immediately flustered again not sure if she should take his or not. Oh dear.

“There isn't any need to fret I am alright.”

Lunafreya Nox Fleuret

he ambient sounds of the cafe were at least calming, not that she needed much of that. It was easy perhaps to become used to an environment such as this, to lose yourself in the whisper of voices and chimes of glass and porcelain as people moved their cups around. It was not something she had ever really experienced, there was little time merely to sit somewhere like this merely for recreational purposes. Her time in this world was at least proving to be educational, she had become an advisor to the Council here, not a role she had considered initially perhaps, but given her natural abilities to speak with people, it seemed like something that would be equally beneficial to herself and the council members.

Slender fingers traced along the rim of her cup idly, tracing along it in a manner that one might a wine glass to produce music. Whatever else this world held for her, she would face it head on, as she had always done. A pretty face of sureity and grace to present to the public, even if the softness of her words were hers, the kindness that flowed so freely, she never allowed those deeper feelings to show....only in private could those walls be brought down. Her brother had told her that she had strength, through everything, the feeling of her life ebbing away with every covenant forged and yet...yet she always held herself strongly, unfazed, and confident. A soft sigh escaped her lips and she glanced out of the window once more to the crystaline snow that shimmered even in this dreaded darkness, a symbol of hope perhaps?

She was drawn from her thoughts by a frightened gasp and the tell tale sound of glass shattering and she glanced towards the commotion, seeing a rather concerned looking young waitress standing over a man whom she assumed she had collided with. Moments later she had risen from her seat, walking over to the scene before kneeling beside him, taking note of his cane, but saying nothing as she passed the waitress a small smile, gesturing for her tray which was handed to her carefully. "Remain still for a moment" she said her voice laced with warmth. "I shall clear the glass that has fallen upon you, lest there be worse injuries from your fall that cannot be healed with the offer of something warm to drink" the offer was sincere though she tried to add some mirth to the situation, it had to be somewhat embarrassing. Slowly and carefully she began to remove any larger visible shards that had fallen on him as it shattered. The waitress began clearing the glass from the floor and once she was certain that the man himself was rid of any obvious shards, she gently took his hand. "Allow me to help you to your feet."
