he weather in Avalon had become somewhat more bitter over the last month, the cheeriness of fall now gone as the harshness of winter drew in. The only delightful distraction from the bitterness of the cold was the snow that it brought with it, that pure crystal white powder that fell to the earth in wisps that danced upon the air. Snow was not something that she had seen often in Tenebrae, once or twice perhaps when she was younger, but it was not a common occurrence. To see everything here blanketed beneath it was wonderful, though not all shared the same view it seemed, there were disgruntled people who found the whole thing a tremendous aggravation, clearing the snow from paths and awnings...it was true that not everyone could find delight in such things, but for her, it was something she looked upon fondly. When the coldness had begun to seep in to the point where she had found herself shivering, she had decided that perhaps it was time to find somewhere warm, or at least somewhere that served something warm.
She had approached the cafe with a smile, glancing up at the sign that read 'chance encounters' which in itself was a somewhat amusing play on the term, where else would you meet someone by chance than in a cafe? A tea had been ordered once the very pleasant waitress had approached her table asking what she wished to order and she had offered her a polite smile, when she returned and she had given her thanks she stared down at her drink, her smile returning once more. It was a welcome sight to see the steam of tell tale heat rising from the cup as she placed her hands around it, feeling the warmth of the porcelain beneath her fingers. With a soft sigh of contentment she brought the cup to her lips, blowing gently on the liquid before taking a sip, leaning back into her chair slightly as the warmth offered comfort from the cold.
Her fingers did not leave the cup as she placed it back upon the table carefully, for all the wonders that this winter brought with it, there were also things that she found to be concerning, with the delight of the snow came the encroaching darkness, something that was frightening in a way...and confusing in another. In Eos, the darkness was something to be feared, the time when the world would be forever plunged beneath it until such time as the King of light purged it from the world. A frown formed upon her brow and she stared down at the cup once more, fingers tightening around it. Noctis....what had become of him? Her last moments with him....those moments before her death, they were as clear in her mind now as they had been when she had awoken in this world, the ring given to him, soft words spoken, the promise that she would be with him always....and now, now she was here, alive, perhaps some gift for fulfilling her role as Oracle, a chance to live out her life as it should have been but....she wished that Noctis was there to share it with her.
