A warning to the people, the good and the evil. This is war. To the soldier, the civilian, the martyr, the victim. This is war. It's the moment of truth, and the moment to lie. The moment to live and the moment to die. The moment to fight. The moment to fight. To fight, to fight, to fight! To the right. To the left. We will fight to the death! To the edge of the earth. It's a brave new world from the last to the first. To the right. To the left. We will fight to the death!
It had been a few weeks since his slip up in the woods. His shoulder had healed a lot and was finally usable again though he shouldn't push it too hard still. However, he was just glad to finally be out again instead of being useless. Not that he blamed Henry or anything, he just had gotten use to being more active than sitting around a shop all day. In fact, he wondered if the man actually liked tending the shop as often as he did. However, he had the shop set up before Ezio met him which meant he had to have at least enjoyed it enough to set it up to begin with.

Still the man was glad to be out in the sunlight. The day was on the cooler side as the seasons started to change once again. The sun was up with only a few clouds drifting by and a light breeze. Cool enough to wear a light jacket but still warm enough that a short sleeve shirt likely would be comfortable as well. Ezio was dressed in his assassin robes. His hood was up over his head as he stood on top of one of the buildings. He was crouched down on the edge of one of the taller ones as hazel eyes glanced down below.

The scene was a typical one. Mostly just people minding their own lives as they hurried about the streets below. But what he was looking for was something a little less typical. Word had it that a few of the Templars were meeting up some where around this district. The reason of why or what they were up to had not been found out. That was what he was doing now. Searching for signs of where the men were and where this supposed meeting was going to be held. So far, however, he hadn't seen anything worth noting at all. Maybe their information was wrong...

A soft sigh escaped his lips as he shook his head. How long had he been standing here now? A few hours at least. Maybe he should give up and move. Perhaps they were at some other location. That was when someone below caught his attention. Was that the man? He certainly fit the description the Assassin was given but his clothes seemed.... familiar in a different way. Still, it was something at least so Ezio started to follow the man from above to try and get a better view of him. The white and red clothing as well as build matching what he was looking for. If only he could get a little closer to be sure as the man he was locating had a scar across the left half of his face.

Ezio leapt from one roof to another as he followed the man. That was... till he tried to grab on to a rain gutter and it.... collapsed on him. Luckily the fall wasn't too far but he did fall rather loud as the flimsy metal came off with him. What was the point of using such weak metal anyway? He was also lucky that a dumpster had been under him and so the trash had softened his fall. "....merdia. Inutili attrezzi moderni... " He muttered to himself, hoping that his target hadn't heard his mishap. One could hope, right?

One of the Brotherhood
Sanctum City. It had taken some getting used to, while not different than Russia in size, it was far busier, the buildings more grandeur, and it lacked the fires of war. Though Avalon made up for this in unknown dangers. At least in Russia he had grown to understand the land, knew what to expect from both orders, where they were often sanctioned, and so on. So far of Ravenwood and Sanctum he was feeling much more comfortable in the first where it was more easy to see the danger before it was upon him. He understood the Templars held domain over the smaller town while a Brotherhood existed in Sanctum. He did not know where or how many there were, or how far their influences stretched.

But he could not pull Anna away from the job she loved; more importantly the children at the home she had grown so fond of. Not because of his own paranoia. Maybe it was too much to ask to end up in another world safe from the other but not without both groups following him along. He was tired of this war, much as Haytham had said he was.

He knew there was at least one Assassin here whom knew his face. One who when he arrived here was still out there and ready to kill him the first opportunity they got. Nikolai was no fool, they would have joined up with the Brotherhood and spread word of ill-intent on his part making him out to be the enemy. Yet he had only been attacked once, and not inside the city, and thus perhaps his paranoia had eased some. Too much. He was becoming too comfortable in his familiar new surroundings.

Glimpsing over his shoulder once or twice feeling as if he had eyes resting upon him. He fought it off as overreacting instinct. The city was full of people who would pass him and look over his form. He was trying to ease himself into this world and not fear every shadow he passed.

Oriens, he had come here in search of job opportunities but so far nothing was panning out for a man whose skill-sets was fairly limited. It seemed not many were in need of hiring someone at his age for physical labor, so it was likely he would continue his job at the docks of Vorick. Which had been helpful, yes, but he hoped to find a way to regular income to better care for his family. He hoped to buy them a real home here.

Dressed in the lighter form of his robes (without the fur cloak), Nikolai pulled his hood over his head to better protect his eyes from the harsh sun and the breeze from his ears. The temperature was beginning to show signs of change which came as a pleasant normality in the Russian's new life. Midst making a mental map of where he had been and the next best way to go he was caught off guard by a loud crashing sound. Sky-blue eyes widening he realized he had let much of his guard down. Frozen to his spot his hands falling at his sides he remained frozen as if trying to anticipate an attack. He'd gotten sloppy. Instead of thinking of what the outcome could have been he reached quickly for the bundled object on his back.

It had been a mistake to ignore the feeling of being watched. It was now likely he could pay for it with his life.

Moving quickly in the direction he had heard the sound his eyes searched for any sign of ambush. Noticing the broken drainpipe he quickly jerked the weapon upward to meet the eyes of the man who dared to raise his head from the dumpster. Not a favorable hiding spot, but one of the modern world none the less, how many times had he used one to evade enemy gunfire? His eyes were narrowed dangerously, rifle brought up and pointed none too close the stranger's reach as he knew better than to confront them too closely, but close enough it would be hard to miss. He regretted getting comfortable....his finger curved against the trigger knowing that hesitation could mean his death. A million thoughts. And the only reason he did not immediately shoot was because he could not be sure there was not a cross-hair trained at his own back. So if he left this man alive for just a moment then they were less likely to shoot right away.Still... Nikolai would kill him...first chance he got.

“Ne shevelis', ubiytsa (do not move, asssassin). One wrong move, I will shoot.” his voice was deep with an aged rust and thick natural accent. And of course, all the more dangerous sounding, and if his voice could somehow be thought a lie, his eyes easily revealed he was not. His mistake, yes, but this man's mistake for following. The question was which one of them would live to regret it?

Ugh this was...crap I am sorry.

The mission seemed to be going well so far. His target didn't show any sign that he knew of his presence. All he had to do was keep this pace till they reached the meeting spot and go from there. That was... till he attempted to grab on to a gutter to use to climb the roof and... the gutter broke off with him still on it. So much for that.

Ezio was a little stunned from his sudden fall. It hurt but he was okay or at least seemed okay. Nothing likely broke and beyond maybe a bruise or small scrape, he was likely not harmed. A hand rubbed at his head as he took a moment to recover after his unexpected fall. Whatever that modern device was for, was useless. Did they just not make things as well as they use to or something? Because that gave away as easily as a very worn and rotted piece of wood. Though the better though was likely whether or not his target had heard him or not. Preferably not.

The assassin wasn't that lucky, however. Before he had time to even peek out of the dumpster, there was a gun pressed in his face. He flinched at how sudden it had happened but remained still, knowing he couldn't avoid or defend if it fired in his current position. Hazel eyes did trail from the barrel to the man who held it as a warning was given. The first part he didn't understand but the second was very clear that he wasn't aiming the gun as some form of weird greeting.

It was at this time Ezio could better see the man's face and clothes. The scar he expected over it wasn't there. Not even slightly. This wasn't the man he was told of? His eyes lowered to the man's clothes. They were similar but different. Much like Shay's, Henry's, and well the others. He was another assassin then? Whoops. The assassin shook his head some and sighed. "I am sorry, I thought you were someone else. I was looking for a Templar with a similar build and a large scar over his face... or so as I was told." Ezio explained himself. He really had no reason to do anything with this man. Though a fellow assassin was always a welcomed ally.

Regardless if he hadn't intended to shadow the older looking man, he knew that he shouldn't make a sudden move just in case the other was still on edge. Not that he blamed him as it was fairly natural for an Assassin to be on guard like this. He hadn't dropped in really that friendly after all, but he really didn't mean the man any harm either. His eyes turned back to where they had come. Perhaps the true target was still that way? Or had he missed him entirely...."I do not suppose you have seen him?" He asked, seeing no harm in doing so.

One of the Brotherhood
Nikolai peered at Ezio from beyond his rifle, blue eyes both cold and watchful for any sign of a threat. Ofcourse he expected this man likely was not working along and a simple mistake likely just cost him his life and potentially others. Still, he had asked so he was not about to shoot the man before he could speak. The man before him, much younger than he was, spoke in a thick – a moment to think – Italian accent though it was not one he was used to hearing.

Templar with a large scar.

Nikolai remained perfectly still, unmoving, finger still hugging the trigger. Had this man any reason to lie? Possibly not but the Russian was not about to make the mistake of simply lowering his gun away and pretending everything was fine. He wishes he could. “Not any Templar I have seen.” it was clear the man wasn't speaking of Haytham or any of the very few foot-soldiers he had seen of his while in Ravenwood. All the more reason to doubt the man even though he could not deny there possibly being more Templars in Sanctum. Amusing, their existence bothered him far less than this man before him right now. It was all too tempting to pull the trigger.

“I am meant to believe you?” he asked coldly, wanting to take the chance to glimpse around the block, but ignored such instinct and kept his eyes locked on the man. “Are you alone?” he demanded from the man as if ignoring his previous statement. Of course he was not ignoring him as much as he just did not believe it to be so simple, it was an easy cover-up as well, he should expect no better from any skilled assassin. This was also why he stared seemingly unblinking at the man.

He should finish him here and now, though even if the man said he was alone Nikolai questioned it. He was faced with a decision though and he needed to make it sooner rather than later. To kill this man or not. The man before him easily less than half his age, it was a shame, but how many lives had come to an end with his blade or bullet? Too many. “If you are somehow being truthful... you have my apologies... you can curse me from the next life, assassin. I cannot...take the risk.” he leveled his gun and began to squeeze the trigger.

Another terrible post for you~

The other male said he hadn't seen such a Templar. Hm. Perhaps he should go back then and try again. Assuming he hadn't missed his chance on the whole thing. Ezio looked down as he tried to think of what to do now and what to do if he had missed his chance. There had to be another option, he just needed to figure it out.

He blinked and looked back up when asked if the other male was suppose to believe him and if he was alone in a rather cold and demanding tone. "Uh...si?" Ezio asked with a raised brow as he wasn't sure what it was the other was getting at. Was there a reason he would be lying about the Templar with the scar? Or perhaps a reason he was upset about him being alone? He really didn't know. ".... Did I say something wrong?" The man asked genuinely confused.

The gun didn't lower. What was with this man? Wasn't he a fellow assassin? Hazel eyes glanced down the older man again. His clothes did look like a different version of the assassin robes. Just like Henry's, Jacob's, and Edward's were different from his and each others. This didn't make any sense to him unless he didn't realize he was an assassin as well? Though it seemed like he did.

Then he said it.... You can curse me from the next life, Assassin. Hold up. What? "Wait a moment. You are an Assassin as well, are you not? I'm not your enemy here." Ezio tried to explain as he tried to shift some to not be so vulnerable but also trying to be careful to not cause the other to pull the trigger. He just wanted to understand what was going on... And not die. That was another huge reason.

One of the Brotherhood
Confusion. It was hard to fake, while not impossible, but the younger man did seem a bit unsure what was going on. Was there truly a chance Nikolai had stumbled upon an assassin who either was not allied with the same group as the others or was simply not informed? He breathed in deeply his teeth sinking further into the inside of his lip. His blue eyes locked with Ezio's as he remained glued there in place for several moments. Could he be wrong in his assumption? Dare he pause and look over his shoulder or give this man here the chance to reach for a weapon or even a bomb.

Sweat gathered on his brow, the shadow of his hood hiding his eyes, he remained statue-like.

His vision lit up, taking on a sort of distorted hue and mix of muted colors and sounds. The man before him glowed and yet his aura did not reveal anything violent and yet he could tell this mane fore him was dangerous. But was he a danger to him? This remained to be seen. Flickers of gold and blue. Who was this man? Dangerous, that was all Nikolai needed to know, wasn't it? He swallows at the lump in his throat and edges his finger further along the trigger.

I am not your enemy. This man seemed so sure.

Nikolai's lips tugged back into a sort of bitter scowl. He should have fired already. For Anna, for Nadya..... What if by some chance he was wrong, killing this man would be taking another life needlessly. What was one more life, the assassins took lives without asking twice! Everyone was someone's child, someones sibling, or lover! His teeth clinched tighter together as his breathing became more shallow. What was one assassin's life! When he arrived here he had been forced to kill two people before he knew where he was.

Maybe he was already dead. Nikolai clinched his teeth together tightly and shook his head back and forth eyes closed tightly before he looked back up at the man his weapon still trained on him though shaking in his hands. 'I do not wish to kill anymore, Anna.' he could remember saying to her days past. A new world of new opportunities. A new life. Killing this man would ensure his own future, but could also cause an avalanche of misfortune to befall him and his family. What should he do, what could he do?

He lowered his head a little and then gently waved his gun from Ezio to the outside of the dumpster as if telling him to go ahead and climb out. “I will treat you like a man not garbage before ...I dispatch you.” he breathed heavily but tried to keep his stiff exterior. “Assassin I am no longer....I plan not to die for such a thing either, not now.” He speaks slowly, trying to better his English. Nikolai's gun pointed slightly to the side but still no less making Ezio its target. But the perfect opportunity to take advantage of as well as Nikolai fought not to let his emotions get the better of him.

It became very clear very fast that something wasn't right. But Ezio wasn't sure what it was. This man was dressed in the Assassin robes. They were different then his own or the new styles he had seen while coming here but they were very much the Assassin robes. This he was very sure of. Had someone mistaken him and attacked before? Though Ezio had said it was a simple misunderstanding. He wasn't even planning on killing him, yet anyway. He wanted information was all.

Hazel eyes were fixed on the other's with the gun trained very heavily on him. With his positioning, he couldn't avoid it. Not only that but guns were hard to avoid. In his world, they were just starting to make an appearance but the ones in this world were very much more advanced. Either way they were still hard to deal with. There was the bracer on his arm that had helped in his world he could try to use but he would much rather work this out then try his luck with it.

It was then he was motioned to get out of the dumpster saying he wouldn't treat him like trash first before killing him. Why the man wanted to kill him was still a point he didn't understand. Not wanting to miss his own chance to escape, Ezio carefully pulled himself free from the unpleasant trash. "Not an Assassin anymore? ... Then... you are a Templar...or...?" The 'older' male asked slowly as he tried not to glare at the thought. Who would want to change to the Templar side? He had lost most of his family because of the Templars after the pieces of Eden. His own life a part of it as well for false accusations and betrayal.

He kept his opinion to himself on the matter of Assassin or Templar. "I do not know why you have chosen to abandon the Assassin path..." Ezio started slowly as he kept his attention to the other. If it came down to it... could he escape? He wasn't sure but he had to be ready to try and defend himself. Right now he needed to play it low to try and figure out this man. Sometimes speaking was better as long as the other could be reasoned with. "But I was not targeting you. Nor did I come looking for trouble. I only want peace for the people living here." No, he really wasn't targeting him nor did he have a reason to cut him down. At least as long as he wasn't a threat which was still to be seen given what had already been displayed.

One of the Brotherhood
Nikolai's face screwed up somewhat. Not an Assassin, a Templar? “Heaven sake, no, they're just as devious and untrustworthy.” he replied with some venom. Though his mind did wander, he had received more kindness from Templars in Avaon than he had the Brotherhood, ironic really, God must pity or be laughing at him. “I was spared and received aid from a Templar when arrived, before and after and I have been hunted by the Brotherhood without rest.” he finally growled out, not that he cared or felt the need to explain this to a 'dead' man.

Nikolai had weighed his meeting with Haytham time and time again, there were too many opportunities for the other of them to slit one anothers throat, and yet they had come to some sort of understanding. In truth their old age and fed-up responses to both of their orders had been not only a breath of fresh air, but somewhat comforting. Both just two old fools among a group of fools trying to make sense of everything. But no, Nikolai was traitor, a monster, some vile worthless piece of trash because his vision had been cleared and he was able to see what was going on.

His father, and father's father must be cursing him from the heavens.

All his fault. His grip on his weapon shook a little in his hands. Everyone was someone's son, daughter, brother, sister, husband, wife. And if he did not fight he may very well lose his own. A thought he could not bear. If he allowed this man to go, he could not be sure the hunt would not continue if word reached the rest of this man's Brotherhood. And if by any chance this man was telling the truth? His heart pounding in his chest be thought the gun up and began to tug the trigger. “Pokoysya s mirom (Rest in peace).” time slows in the moment if the kill, sweat on his brow, his heart slows.

He stops.

Forgetting how to breathe he slowly lowers his gun. The corners of his lips are drawn back and the age in his face betrays him as he clams his eyes closed for seconds to open them again. A look of frustration mixed with defeat. If this man takes the opportunity, he will know for sure, and he will kill him. So is the opening intentional or has he given up? “God forgive me..” he rasps under his breath and stifles a shiver the weapon grasped at his side now but it does not make him any less dangerous. God please, spare me some of your mercy... he silently pleads. All instinct told him to drive that bullet home, but he tired of killing.

“Used up..and then thrown away as trash...” if Ezio did not make any sudden movements the Russian would return his weapon slowly to its holster on his back. The blade at his hip as well as the hidden one still at easy disposal. “Who are you, Assassin?” he asked somewhat coldly, and waiting for a reply or for the other man to take action...

So not a Templar either. But just as devious and untrustworthy? Ezio didn't have a clue what this male was talking about. Since when were the Assassins devious and untrustworthy? So he was being hunted. Is it because he left the Brotherhood or a more serious reason? The man had no way of knowing. It wasn't likely the younger would give him the true reason. Perhaps Henry would know? Of course, in order to even ask his adviser he would need to learn of this man's name. A task that seemed to be easier said then done.

Still something didn't seem right and Ezio wanted to know what. "I have no reason to take your life. I do not even know who you are. But why do you wear the robes of the Brotherhood if you are not one?" The mentor asked though kept his guard very well up. It wasn't likely to get him an answer but perhaps he was wrong. What he really needed to be doing was trying to locate his real target before it got away. At this rate it seemed that wasn't going to happen, though.

Again the gun was raised and aimed at the older male. Ezio bit at the inside of his lip. This distance wasn't ideal for avoiding or blocking the bullet. Nor could he do a counter of any sort either. There was the hidden pistol that he could fire with just a flick of his thumb. But it still would require him to move his hand to aim before the trigger was pulled. What should he do?

Hazel eyes watched the younger male closely, trying to read anything. The man before him seemed... conflicted. If he truly wanted to kill him... why hadn't he? Why was he hesitating like this? That's when he saw it. A drop in guard as the other closed his eyes. Ezio blinked. That was a rookie mistake. But this man looked to be much older than him in appearance. Surely he wouldn't do something like that.

Tired. Defeated. No. Whoever this man was surely did not have an easy life. This much he knew to be true even without knowing anything about him. Ezio did nothing. He should have but something told him not to. That look. It remind him of a look that his father would give to his older brother about taking over the role of a banker. The same look his uncle gave when faced with the same problems they had faced for years. It was a look of someone who was ready to give up. Who didn't know what else to do.

The Assassin relaxed his shoulders some. He was ready to defend himself but he also didn't want a fight if it could be helped. That's when he was asked who he was. He bit his lip again as he debated his options on this a moment. "... Ezio Auditore...de Firenze." He finally stated. "Though one should give their own name before asking for anothers." Perhaps he could get a name.

One of the Brotherhood
A moment from the kill, his heart pounding in his ears, ten thousands ponds of pressure against his finger and the trigger. All too easy to be pulled all it would all happen in an instant. Before his heart could mutter another beat, before either of them could blink an eye, a quick end and a solid drop. Not the first man he has killed and not the last. And somehow the bullet does not come, his fingertip slips away from the trigger and his gun feels heavier. He longs for the familiar click and ring of the barrel because that means he is safe. His eyes close when he realizes his own safety is unimportant.

No reason the younger man says, and yet Nikolai finds an inability to trust such words but he still listens. Tired blue eyes remained focused before dipping away for only a moment. “I am....but days from being branded traitor and hunted by my brothers, then appeared here, I have nothing to my name.” not even a change of clothes, perhaps so, but the robes were far more protective than normal clothing, he did not need to explain this he was sure. Only days ago he was fleeing with Anastasia, and then his beloved wife and daughter.

Had he make a mistake allowing the Assassin to get back upon even ground? To continue speaking when he knew that in itself was often a mistake. And he was afraid to ask. Afraid to say the assassins has caught up to him and his wife afraid this man might suddenly say they are being kept somewhere or worse news... And yet he returned his weapon to his back, slowly letting his hands fall to his sides before turning them over to show his empty palms. Though he knew if this man was not some common fool he should know Nikolai was still not only visibly armed, much like he expected of him.

Why did that name sound familiar? His eyes narrowed a little in question though he was not entirely sure why or what it was. “I think that I have heard that name before though it shares no personal connection.” He pressed his lips together firmly and watches the man a little longer only to shift a little at his statement. “Nikolaï Andreievich Orelov. Russian Brotherhood. Formerly.” he decided to give his name after all, maybe if for no other reason to gauge Ezio's reaction to it. But if there was any reaction it was not one that read of any familiarity to the name no matter how faint.

“Are too cocky ital'yanskiy(Italian)...You have too much faith I would not kill you. Do not know who I am....but that also means you do not likely know anything about my wife...” he could back him into a corner and question him by force but that seemed unlikely to yield results this man, Kolya deduced, did not know anything about any of it. He had so many questions he should ask of this man about the brotherhood and the fellow he knew had come from his own and been hunting him. And yet all at once he felt the energy flow from him and the helplessness settle in his stomach. Rubbing his hand down his face he waved the other at Ezio. “Begone then before you become mistake, before I change my mind to question you. Unless you would still raise blade knowing nothing about it and take blind faith in your brotherhood without knowing the truth.” He almost dared him to try.

Maybe he wanted...some reason to keep fighting... It was all he had left.

I keep failing at accents and his imperfect english but AAAA

A warning to the people, the good and the evil. This is war. To the soldier, the civilian, the martyr, the victim. This is war. It's the moment of truth, and the moment to lie. The moment to live and the moment to die. The moment to fight. The moment to fight. To fight, to fight, to fight! To the right. To the left. We will fight to the death! To the edge of the earth. It's a brave new world from the last to the first. To the right. To the left. We will fight to the death!
The male admitted that he was days away from being branded a traitor when he ended up in Avalon. Ezio wondered just what the man did for that. Part of him wished to ask but the other part felt it wasn't any of his business either. Well, as long as he didn't cause anyone any trouble in Avalon that was. Still for someone who had earned such a titled he didn't really seem like the type. Of course Ezio had no way of knowing anything about him.

Hazel eyes were fixed on the barrel of the gun aimed at him. His mind rushed with thoughts as he wondered what to do. What could he do? But all of that dropped with the same barrel. He wasn't going to shoot him? The way the other male stood. It was like he was welcoming Ezio to kill him instead. Just who was this man? One minute he was trying to kill him and the next he seemed to be offering his own life instead. Surely he had been through a lot as his body and his eyes reflected as such.

Ezio decided to give his name. It was likely the Templars here knew of it or at least heard it before. It also may give him a chance to know the older's. His hope had worked out. Nikolaï Andreievich Orelov. Russian Brotherhood. The name wasn't anything he could recall at all. He didn't even know of the other Brotherhoods outside of Italy. At least in location or who was in them. The fact there were others was something he did know, but only in word. Nothing more.

Shifting slightly to be more comfortable, the assassin tilted his head slightly in thought. "Russian then. The accent." He somewhat asked but it was more of a rhetorical question. "Italian Brotherhood. Though now I suppose you could say Avalon's. I have not heard of anything from the others. Although... He went on, gently placing one hand on his hip. There was something else he had come to realize. The other Assassins he had met here had been from a much later time than himself but all of them seemed different. It lead to him wonder if this was indeed the case again. "It seems time is different for those who end up here...in most cases. It was 1488 for me." The man answered as hazel eyes tried to gauge his reaction.

The assassin shook his head and gave a small smirk. "No, not at all. I believe you can at any moment. Otherwise I would have tried to find my real target by now. Though, he likely got away by now..." He sighed. The last part more of a mutter to himself than anything. What was worse. Following the wrong target and losing your chance for the right. Or lingering too long in a delicate situation as the target got away? He wasn't sure.

His wife? A brow was raised at the question. Though something else he knew nothing of. "I am sorry. It is likely she is not here, but back home." While Ezio didn't know how long he had been in Avalon it seemed most people were not pulled here from the same world or at least at the same time. He had heard of the rare chance others that people knew were also pulled but it fortunately or unfortunately didn't happen that often.

Again the older male shook his head. "I have no intention of starting a fight. You are correct in that I do not know what you have done. But it does not concern me... As long as you do not cause harm for the people here in Avalon." No. People had their reasons. This was something he was starting to learn. It was those reasons that made the difference of whether they were right or wrong. As long as the people in Avalon were not at harm, it was not his place to meddle in the affairs of others. This was what he believed.

One of the Brotherhood
Nikolai takes his hand and wipes it gently across his tired face, brows knitting together as if in disbelief when Ezio tells him he has not heard of him. Watching the younger man he finds it difficult not to believe him but it makes no sense. Are they avoiding the Avalon Brotherhood and working on their own then? His eyes narrow in thought as he glimpses away. Time. 1488. Nikolai blinks once or twice before peering to the man who stands across from him again. A living relic, yet he appears easily almost fourth his age, while Nikolai himself is a child in timeline he is much older.

Nikolai continues to stare back for several moments before echoing what sounds like a short dry laugh. His brows are knit together and his lips press together firmly into a small frown before he dips his head forward. “Nearly end of 1888. The man who aided in my arrival here was from another year, though anything so danvo (long past.)” he watched Ezio before shaking his head. “That explains the honesty in your voice and and eyes.” he sounded almost bitterly amused, disappointed, and yet grateful for being so. The corners of his vision eased into discolor, as Eizo's body turned a golden bronze hue before everything returned to normal.

He breathed out slowly when the man mentioned his real target a twitch of his mustache in a disgruntled frown. Not entirely sure how he felt about that or anything that was currently transpiring. Truth be told he felt like a boy who should run to his father for guidance, not a feeling he had felt in a long time, and not one he enjoyed. His eyes drift to the side as his shoulders rise slightly and then fall. “My apologies. If you tell of me this man I would consider lending a hand.” why? He wasn't entirely sure. Maybe as if to make up for keeping him here. If this man as of such an early Brotherhood.... was it likely they were as cold as his own?

More terrible news, but also somewhat welcoming. If the Assassins did follow him then it is likely they lost Anna's trail. His wife was a strong woman, intelligent, and spiritually. And the only thing keeping him drawing breath right now was the belief that she somehow squeezed among the passengers and blended in. That the assassins never spotted her at all. God he hoped so. “Yes. Which I hope is the best should they use my disappearance as my likely death... she should be safe.” he spoke more to himself as he reached up to tug a little at his collar.

He shifts watching Ezio for a little longer before breathing out slowly. “I feel it unwise to trust you, and do not expect any less from you. But your name makes much more sense now....master Auditore. My father's lessons go not completely forgotten.” if this was truly the same man he comes from a time before the brotherhood began to slip into corruption, did it not? At least he liked to think so. Again he dared to hope so.

Aaaaa short on time I hope this is alright.
